Hello All,
This Friday is our final public performances of the 2017-18 Mighty Black & Gold. All of our ensembles will be on display beginning at 6:30 this Friday in the MHS Auditorium. This is a FREE concert that you do not want to miss. All of our wonderful students have been working so hard to present you with an outstanding line-up to showoff. Tell everyone you know. It is of utmost importance that everyone attend your appropriate rehearsals this week. Consequences of not attending these rehearsals will mean you not being able to perform during that portion of the concert or at the concert period. Students, please make sure you turn in all of your band banquet forms this week. All of the deadlines are below. Speaking of band banquet, tickets will go on sale as soon as this week. If your fair shares have been paid in full, your banquet ticket is free, otherwise tickets are $12. We will let you know when these go on sale. We are still crunching the numbers to see what we made. I will say we are trying figure out the magic equation to get more people to attend this festival. The vendors loved everything about it which is always good. Finally, a big shout out to our crawfish committee for your help in putting this event together. Hello All,
Let me begin by giving the Blackwater Beats Jazz Band a HUGE shoutout for their accomplishments this past week. It was a busy week for these students with two big performances; one at the Pensacola Jazz Fest last Sunday and the other at the Imogene Theater last Thursday. You guys brought the house down Thursday night! On top of those performances, these students raised $1200 in donations for the band over the week. If you missed the concert Thursday night, you can CLICK HERE and watch it on our YouTube page. The 3rd annual Crawfish Festival is this Saturday! Boy that got here quickly! I want to thank all of the folks who have signed up to help out. There are just a few spots left open for those that would still like to help out. Just CLICK HERE and sign up. Everyone will need to sign in inside the Band Room. From there, you will be directed to your work location. Please make sure you double check your times on the attached list. Mind you that the empty spots left blank on the online sign-up are not shown on this list.We will also have someone at check-in to explain what you will be doing at your location. More information is to come. Percussion, this Thursday is the first of several percussion interest camps. This is not required, however, if you would like to get a jump start on next year and possibly meet some of the new potential MB&G Band Family, I encourage you to come on out. The times are below. Colorguard, your interest camps will be during the first week of May. Leadership, please take note of the meeting this Friday.
