Now that the Awards Ceremony is completed, we are closer to turning the page on a new chapter of the MB&G. This week we begin that chapter with our first 2 rehearsals of the new marching band. Here is everything happening in the Mighty Black & Gold. New Leadership Team - First of all, thank you to all of our members of the 2020-21 Leadership Team. Instruments and music and be placed around the main band room area for the time being. Any item left in lockers by the end of the day will either be thrown out or donated. Students will receive new lockers at the step-off rehearsal on Tuesday. Leadership meetings - The first meeting of the ne leadership team will take place on Monday 4pm-6pm. We will also have leadership camp this Saturday the 29th, 10am-6pm. More details will be given on Monday. Attendance is required for both. Step-off and Downbeat Rehearsals - Tuesday and Thursday, we will hold the first rehearsals of the 2021-22 MB&G Band. This is for all NEW & RETURNING students. Make sure you bring instruments. Students that play, Tuba, Euphonium, or French horn do not need to bring their instrument since you will be issued marching instruments at this rehearsal. Also, all students will be issued lockers. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes since we will most likely be going outside at times. Wind Auditions - All wind players MUST submit a band audition by this Saturday. Outstanding is one of many ways to describe all of the our students for their amazing performances last Friday! Our students prove time and time again how incredible they really are! Only just a few more weeks with lots of activities. See below for this week. Band Day - Tuesday we will welcome all of our potential new students to the auditorium for 8th grade band day. All of our current students will need to come to the band hall at the beginning of 6th period. We will wear THIS YEAR'S BAND SHIRT AND BLUE JEANS/SHORTS. We will rehearse the in the auditorium very briefly before the new folks arrive. Parents, we are in need of volunteers to help serve pizza at around 4:15-4:45ish. If you are available, please CLICK HERE to sign-up. We should be done around 6:30 Band Awards Ceremony - The Charles "Bud" Bell Band Banquet is this Saturday in the MHS Gym at 6pm. All current band members and family are welcome to attend. Because of county mandates, the band, along with all other groups cannot serve food at these ceremonies. We will still award the hard work of our students in person. This will also still be a formal event, so dress up in your Sunday's best. Students are asked to sit on the seats on the floor of the gym and guests are asked to sit in the bleachers on either side. The stage will be set up along the far wall, opposite of the entrance. Uniforms Returned - All uniforms are to be returned by this Friday, CLEANED. For cleaning instructions CLICK HERE. You will return the Jacket, Sash, Gauntlets, and any other item that was borrowed. Remaining Fair Share - As we get closer to the end of the school year, we need to start closing out accounts for this year. Fair shares this year totaled $155. Please look through financial statements on charms to see how much of this you still owe. You can access Charms login info by CLICKING HERE. Payments can be made through cash, check, or online. Online payments are made by CLICKING HERE. If you are having trouble accessing your account or having trouble making payments, please contact us immediately so we can help out with what we can. Wind Auditions - The MHS Band Wind Auditions are due next Saturday, May 29th. DO NOT WAIT TO SUBMIT THESE! All wind students MUST audition in order to participate in the band for next year.
